WHO-Collaboration

The World Health Organization (WHO) designates centres for collaboration in research and training in mental health in the WHO member states. The Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) in Mannheim was first designated in 1980 and has ever since held that function permanently.


Regarding the current Redesignation Period from 3rd May 2010 until 3rd May 2014  the CIMH decided in close agreement with the WHO to coordinate new collaborations and activities mutually beneficial and practicable for WHO and CIMH:
 
Current terms of reference:
 
1. Representation of the interest of the WHO Regional Office for Europe Mental Health Programme in the framework  of the European Mental Health Initiative

2. Development of concepts and evaluation of innovative models of long-term care for people with dementia
