Memory Clinic

Deficits in memory and concentration are associated with a variety of different disorders. As numerous causes for changes in intellectual functionig have been identified a reliable diagnosis is obligatory to be able to initiate the appropriate therapeutic measures.

We are a highly specialized outpatient clinic for the differential assessment of memory disorders in the elderly. The combination of medical and neuropsychological methods assures a highly reliable diagnosis.
Patients are seen on an appointment-basis only following referal by their local physician.

Examination procedures include the following:
Blood tests, neurological examination, computertomography, EEG, neuropsychological assessment, structured interview of a caregiver.

The day of the appointment, following the evaluation of all findings, caregivers and patients are informed concerning diagnosis, prognosis and appropriate therapeutic measures. In addition to initiating medical treatment we also focus on advising caregiving relatives.

The refering physician receives a written report and is responsible for the patient´s subsequent treatment.
