The Psychiatric - Psychosomatic Consultation- and Liaison Service at the Klinikum Mannheim consists of three psychiatrists and one secretary.
They constitute a branch of the Dept. of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the ZI.
The Consultation- and Liaison Service is available for all in- and out-patients of the Klinikum Mannheim which has a total capacity of 1.456 beds and comprises all medical and surgical disciplines of a modern University Hospital (Faculty of Clinical Medecine Mannheim of the University Heidelberg). Clinical tasks

- diagnostics of psychiatric disorders
- therapy of psychiatric disorders (Psychopharmacological and Psychotherapeutical interventions)
- determining indication of and arranging for consecutive psychiatric / psychosomatic therapies both on in- and outpatient basis
- providing expert opinion and initiating guardienships and placement into care
- special services for HIV, sexual dysfunctions, reproductive counselling
- psychiatric / psychosomatic Liaison work
- serving as a consult during emergencies
- education seminars for medical staffs
