Department of Addictive Behavior and Addiction Medicine

The Department of Addictive Behaviour and Addiction Medicine was founded in March 1999. Specialized treatment is offered to patients suffering from alcohol dependence and drug dependence (e.g. benzodiazepines) on two inpatient treatment wards with 12 beds each and a day clinic. The day clinic was opened in June 2005. Treatment for patients suffering from alcohol dependence is also offered in an outpatient clinic.


In addition, there is a specialized outpatient clinic offering consultation and therapy to persons consuming ecstasy and other party drugs. Treatment is also offered for opiate-dependent patients and patients suffering from impulse-control disorders (e.g. pathological gambling).
