Internships are offered on advanced data analysis problems in the neuro- and behavioral sciences, with a current focus on time series analysis through recurrent neural networks and unsupervised methods for high-dimensional pattern recognition. Topics for internships could be both at a more algorithmic-mathematical level or at a more applied level. The latter could for instance involve the specific analysis of brain recordings from various modalities (neuroimaging, EEG, etc.) or of behavioral time series (subject responses, location data, etc.).
Format
Flexible.
Prerequisites
Applicants should have acquired some background in machine learning, for instance through our lectures on ‘time series analysis’ or ‘computational statistics’. Decent programming skills in either Python or Matlab are also required.

In 2019 the ZI does not offer a BOGY internship week. The date for 2020 will be announced here at the end of 2019.
The Communication and Media Department organizes a vocational orientation internship (“BOGY Week”) for high school students once a year. During this week, participants get to know the ZI work areas and receive a theoretical insight into various occupational fields. Particularly in lectures and a tour of the ward and lab, participants can get an overview of the occupations in psychiatric patient care and research, and are given the opportunity to ask many questions to ZI employees.
For data protection reasons, no patient contact can take place. Therefore, the BOGY Week is exclusively theoretical in nature.
When: one week once a year, in the spring - there are no other offerings apart from this
Current data: The next date will be in March or April 2020
Application start on: November 2019
Number of spaces: 20
Documentation: Appliction received only via e-mail starting in November 2019. The following information is needed: First and last name, address, phone number, school, type of school, grade.
