Description
The focus of the working group is on care-related health services research as well as applied care research or care-related health research. Here, the working group attempts to describe, explain and systematize the specific content of psychiatric nursing and its underlying phenomena and concepts as well as structures and processes in different care settings and against the background of diverse populations. In this way, an important contribution is to be made to the expansion of the body of knowledge of nursing in psychiatric-psychosocial fields of action. Against this background, the following main topics are currently being worked on scientifically:
- Nursing role profiles and Advanced Nursing Practice in psychiatry,
- Contents of modern psychiatric nursing,
- Public and Community Mental Health Nursing,
- Digital innovations in the context of psychiatric nursing, and
- Nursing-related concept and theory development.
In addition to the research focus, another focus of the working group is the university-based education and scientific supervision of nurses and students of nursing and health science programs, as well as the promotion and support of scientifically based nursing at the Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH).
In the context of university education and scientific support of nursing professionals and students of nursing and health science programs, the AG Psychiatric Nursing Research has established a practice partnership or official cooperation with the Catholic Foundation University Munich (KSH) and the Catholic University Mainz (KH Mainz).
The RG Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and the Bern University of Applied Sciences cooperate in the fields of applied nursing research and conduct joint research projects in this context.
