About me

After finishing his medical studies, Omar obtained a master's degree in bioinformatics from the University of Saarland, before starting his PhD at CIMH. In his research project, he uses machine learning (ML) to predict gene expression in order to explore gene-disease associations, understand the biology behind complex diseases, and stratify patients into subgroups. In his free time, he enjoys poetry, cloud computing and start-ups.
