Anastasia is a PhD student at the HITBR laboratory. She received her B.A. in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Animal Behaviour at the McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada and her M.Sc. in Interdisciplinary Neurosciences at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Her master thesis investigated the connectivity and functional role of oxytocin neurons in hindbrain vocalization areas of rats. Her current PhD project delves into modeling cells of origin of glioblastoma tumours, drug screenings for treatment, as well as cultivation of cortical spheroids. Outside of the lab, Anastasia spends her time hiking and making art.
