About me
I joined Valery's lab in September 2025 to conduct research on positive emotions alongside Shimpei Ishiyama. I am particularly fascinated by the mysteries underlying play behaviour, such as why engaging in play elicits feelings of joy. I am also interested in the neural mechanisms that support this phenomenon and the relationship between oxytocin and positive emotion. I am also interested in the potential to manipulate play behaviour using techniques like optogenetics.
Baolong completed his Master's degree through a joint neuroscience and neuroimaging programme run by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Aarhus University in Denmark. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in biotechnology from Beijing Forestry University.
