The primary goal of this project is to elucidate the mechanisms underlying sleep homeostasis and its effect on memory encoding by investigating the intricate interplay between exercise, sleep, and memory. By employing a simple manipulation to modify sleep, this project will be key to elucidating the mechanisms underlying SHY in a well-powered study. Several methods will be employed to measure plastic changes in order to overcome limitations posed by each specific
method and provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of sleep for memory encoding.
