Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt 01KD2511E: TTRIS-CSI: MOLECULAR AND TREATMENT-RELATED CAUSES OF RADIATION-INDUCED SARCOMAS (RIS) AS LATE EFFECTS IN CANCER SURVIVORS. 02/2026-01/2029.
We aim to identify the treatment-related, epidemiological and molecular causes of RIS in cancer survivors. The primary objective of this project is to investigate both acquired and constitutional molecular alterations in RIS to improve the understanding and management of these tumours.
Secondary objectives of TTRIS-CSI are: a comprehensive analysis of epidemiological information on RIS in the German Cancer Registries - also to assess the representativeness of the RIS cohort used for multi-omic analyses; to quantify the relative contribution molecular-genetic factors to RIS risk depending on the individual cancer and treatment history; to identify wishes and needs of RIS-patients towards shared decision-making; to raise awareness and provide evidence-based information on RIS development to patients, radiotherapists and healthcare providers.
