Prof. Dr. Ulrich Reininghaus, Head of the Department of Public Mental Health at the Central Institute for Mental Health, has been re-elected to the Executive Board of the Federal Association for Prevention and Health Promotion (BVPG). The election took place during the BVPG’s general meeting on May 18, 2026, in Berlin.
The BVPG is a nationwide umbrella organization with member organizations from the fields of healthcare, science, and prevention. The association’s goal is to advance the professional development of prevention and health promotion and to help shape discussions on health policy.
Contribute expertise in the field of public mental health
With his re-election, Reininghaus continues to bring scientific expertise in the field of public mental health, as well as on the social and societal factors influencing mental health, to the association’s work.
“Mental health is significantly shaped by social conditions. Prevention and health promotion must therefore take greater account of people’s real-life circumstances. I look forward to continuing to bring this perspective to the work of the BVPG,” said Reininghaus upon his reelection to the BVPG Executive Board.
