Dr. Ryan Patwell

About me

I joined Dr Grinevich's lab as a postdoctoral researcher in autumn 2021, having completed my PhD in neuroscience. My research focuses on understanding the reinforcing potential of central oxytocin signalling in relation to social and non-social rewards. To this end, I will use a variety of techniques, including operant self-administration, optogenetics and calcium imaging, to characterise and manipulate the central oxytocin system in vivo.

Ryan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD in Neuroscience. He is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in our team.
