Info: Ana Rajičić is a PhD student at the Department of Translational Brain Research. She analyses schizophrenia using a human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) model. In her project, she studies potential disease targets using high-throughput screening of hiPSC-derived neuronal cells from a cohort within the BEST consortium, a collaboration within the German Centre of Mental Health (DZPG). She obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science in Medicine at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Her master thesis at the Alzheimer Centre of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam focused on neurovascular markers in a post-mortem cohort of frontotemporal dementia. During her Bachelor degree, she worked on a research project assessing BRAF-mutation status using radiomics in lung metastases of melanoma at the Department of Oncology at the Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam. As she has a strong interest in psychiatric diseases and the functionality of the brain, she aspires to combine research with medical practice in future.
