About me

My research focuses on approaches to improve timely access to mental healthcare for people experiencing psychological distress. I am particularly interested in groups who tend to seek help only at a late stage. Using both quantitative methods—such as analyses of nationally representative panel data—and qualitative approaches, I aim to better understand gaps in mental healthcare use. One of my main interests is the potential of programs like Mental Health First Aid to reduce access barriers and support earlier help-seeking.

Projects

Evaluation of Mental Health First Aid in Germany (EMERALD: ISRCTN17630569)

Assessing the effectiveness of a low-threshold training program to improve mental health literacy and promote earlier help-seeking in the general population.
