About me:

I joined Valery's lab in September 2025 and am conducting research on positive emotions with Shimpei Ishiyama. I am particularly fascinated by the mysteries underlying play behavior—why engaging in play elicits feelings of joy, also the neural mechanisms that support this phenomenon, especially interested in the relationship between oxytocin and positive emotion. The potential to manipulate the play behavior by technique like optogenetics is also my interest.

Baolong completed his Master's degree through a joint neuroscience and neuroimaging program between the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Aarhus University in Denmark. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Beijing Forestry University.
