Info: Jessica is a PhD student at the HITBR-lab. She is enrolled at the University of Heidelberg as well as in the Interdisciplinary Center for Neurosciences (IZN) PhD program. She received her B.Sc. in Biotechnology and her M.Sc. in Bioprocess Development with honor from the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim. In her master's thesis at the University of California Berkeley, she investigated the function of specific miRNAs in the development of the mouse choroid plexus.

 

For her PhD reseach project, she focuses on developing a high-throughput screening method for drug target discovery in Schizophrenia by means of utilizing co-cultured iPS cell-derived cortical neurons and microglia. What she enjoys most in her free time is bouldering, hiking, crocheting and gaming.
