About me

I joined Valery Grinevich’s lab in 2023 to complete a lab rotation as part of my Master's thesis, which focused on the functional organisation of the brain's arginine vasopressin (AVP) system. I then stayed on to continue this work as a PhD student in 2025. Using newly generated transgenic rat lines, I map AVP circuits and manipulate the activity of AVP-producing neurons and their targets using optogenetic and chemogenetic tools, in order to understand how these circuits influence behaviour relating to pain, fear and stress.

Charlotte holds a BSc and an MSc in Molecular Biosciences from the University of Heidelberg. She is currently a PhD student working in our lab and enrolled on the IZN International Graduate Programme.
