Prof. Dr. Falk Kiefer, Medical Director of the Clinic for Addictive Behavior and Addiction Medicine at the Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) in Mannheim, has received the “European Award for Excellence in Alcohol Research – Helmut Seitz Award.”
The award was presented at the 20th Congress of the European Society of Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ESBRA) in Brussels. It is considered one of the world's most prestigious awards in the field of alcohol research. It is sponsored by the Manfred Lautenschläger Foundation and has been presented every two years since 2007.
Better understanding of alcohol-related diseases
The award recognizes outstanding European researchers who have made significant contributions to a better understanding of alcohol-related diseases or to the development of new treatment strategies.
“This award is not only a great personal honor, but also recognition of our work in addiction research at the CIMH. Our goal is to offer effective help and new perspectives to those affected,” says Prof. Kiefer, who is also president of the German Society for Addiction Research, among other positions.
We warmly congratulate Prof. Kiefer on this significant award!
