The KVALITO Consulting Group, a Basel-based company specializing in quality management in the life sciences, has been supporting the support group for child and adolescent psychiatry at the Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) in Mannheim since 2021. To mark its tenth anniversary, KVALITO has now donated 5,000 euros to the support group. With the money donated, the clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry can now offer regular skateboarding workshops for young patients for a year, as well as another circus project.
"At Christmas, we want to support people and especially children in emergency situations. This is a tradition at Kvalito," says Magdalena Kurpierz, founder and Managing Director of KVALITO. "Child and adolescent psychiatric clinics do very important work. That impresses us. And we are delighted to be able to support the child and adolescent psychiatry team at the CIMH in Mannheim through the support group. This support goes directly to the children."
Leisure activities complement therapy
“We are very pleased about the continued support from Kvalito and would like to thank the entire team very much,” says Rolf Oster-Ritter, nursing manager in the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and deputy chairman of the support group. The new donation will enable the support association to regularly finance skateboard workshops for a year. “Skateboard workshops are an important leisure activity that complements therapy and has many positive effects. It can strengthen body awareness, self-confidence and cooperation in the group and, above all, is a lot of fun for children and young people,” explains Oster-Ritter.
The circus project is also a special offer that combines joy, togetherness and the practice of important skills. Whether juggling, balancing or riding a unicycle - the young patients practice various tricks over several days and present them to their relatives and CIMH employees as part of the summer festival at the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Exemplary commitment
“In order to be able to offer our patients such valuable leisure activities, we rely on support,” says Prof. Dr. Dr. Tobias Banaschewski, Medical Director of the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and First Chairman of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Support Group. “We would like to thank Magdalena Kupierz for allowing the success of her company to provide such generous help for children and young people. This is an exemplary commitment.”
